Join exhibiting artist Peta Duncan in the gallery for a special floor talk sharing the ideas and creative processes behind her current exhibition, We Built a House Out of Water.
Following the talk, Peta will lead a free, hands-on creative cyanotype workshop where participants will learn how to coat paper with light-sensitive chemicals, arrange and collage objects and imagery, and develop striking blue-and-white prints using sunlight or UV light. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore bleaching and toning their prints to create sepia tones.
By the end of the session, participants will create their own unique cyanotype artworks to take home while gaining an understanding of how this historic process can be used for artistic expression, storytelling, and creative experimentation.
