This panel gathers the artists and curators of Through Our Eyes in conversation with audiences to explore the social, cultural, and political conditions that influence how African-Australian lives are seen, framed, and shared.

The conversation will address photography and moving image as sites of power - where visibility is negotiated through trust, consent, faith, and community accountability. Rather than offering resolved narratives of identity, the panel will examine refusal, self-determination, and collective care as political strategies, inviting audiences to reflect on their own position within systems of looking, listening, and cultural production.

This is a free public program event as part of Through Our Eyes exhibition.
