With a afternoon on the lawns with special guests performances & food.

Blak Dot Gallery is pleased to announce its inaugural end of year summer show, ‘CIRCULAR’.

Bringing together the creative spirits from across this land in a celebration of art, culture and inclusion. Exhibiting both Indigenous/First Nations and non-Indigenous artists .

This year’s theme is ‘CIRCULAR’

Requested works could be of any medium but must be in a circle or spherical shape, no greater than 500 x 500 in diameter, including frames/display apparatus.

PRIZES

In 2019, there are two cash prizes available to be funded by application fees. The value of prizes will be split as follows:

1st prize $1500

2nd prize $500

Sponsors choice by: DRAWCARD - Artist will have their work on printed postcards in the new year.

Our Judges

Victor Griss

Victor Griss is Curator at the Counihan Gallery In Brunswick, Moreland City Council. He previously held managerial, curatorial and art collection roles at Deakin University Art Gallery.

His curated exhibitions include Video Echoes: Waves From the Eastern Mediterranean, Leather Poisoning: Football Possessions, Straight Protean: Brian Robinson and Monkey Grip: Lisa Roet.

Hannah Presley

Hannah Presley is an Aboriginal curator based in Melbourne, she is currently curator of Indigenous art at the National Gallery of Victoria and was recently the inaugural Yalingwa curator at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art. Recent curatorial projects include A Lightness of Spirit is the Measure of Happiness, 2018, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne.
