“Cocina Caribeña”

OUR HOSTs

Quincy Malesovas Zoë Milah DeJesus

Puerto Rican cuisine blends Taíno tradition (from the island’s Indigenous people) with Spanish Criollo and West African influence. The seemingly simple dishes are complex and layered, reflecting the island's colonial history.

Please join us for a hands-on, share-style dinner as we dive into this history and celebrate Puerto Rican flavours. We’ll be cooking one of Zoë’s go-to recipes and teaching you how to press your own tostones using Quincy’s mom’s press.

Menu

Pollo Guisado – Braised chicken stew in a rich, sofrito-spiked broth.

Served with rice, beans, avocado, and plantain two ways (maduros + tostones).

The meal is gluten-free, and a vegan option will be available.

Quincy and Zoë are united by a deep love of food and a belief in its power as a social equaliser. With shared Puerto Rican heritage, they both see food as a vessel for home, memory and ancestral knowledge. It’s an honour to share a taste of Caribbean culture in Naarm, where it’s still rarely seen.
